Basingstoke Half Marathon
On 02 October 2011, I ran the Basingstoke Half Marathon to raise money for Dove House School. After two years of raising funds for Dove House, I raised a total of £848.92, thereby helping them towards their goal to provide better sports equipment for the pupils.

I couldn't have done this without the help and support of everyone who was kind enough to make a donation to this cause. Although this is a great achievement, I believe that the time has come to redirect and focus my energies on a different, though equally important cause. I will be announcing details of this shortly.

Dove House
Finding a secondary school is not an easy task, especially if your child requires something special. Dove House in Basingstoke is a specialist School for children with learning difficulties.

The school is a place where the children can be confident, safe and secure, and feel individually known.

In partnership with the parents and the community, the aim of Dove House is to make a positive difference to the lives of all the pupils in the school. They do this by developing the children's knowledge, skills, experience and imagination to their maximum.

As every parent knows, children express themselves through play, in their own fantastic, magical place where dreams come alive. In sports, playing is also physical exercise, which is very important for everyone. With new sports equipment, providing better opportunities for more of the children to be able to play in this way becomes a reality.
